Things Noticed

there are a few things i've noticed on this trip:
My nails have gotten so long, which never happens. I've been practicing so much i'm never thinking about biting them! yay
Secondly, my travels here to Luxembourg has totally and completely threw me off guard in the fact that my face is so oily nowadays! I've never had an oily face!!! I'm not very fond of it...

For dinner tonight, (8/25/11) I sat by the riverside at the restaurant Du Pont, with my friends Jean (21) and Victor (23). They are a couple, both violinists, which i find to be so hard to deal with...having to go out with someone who does what you do as well as you. I wouldn't like that at all. But they told me that its not like that because they are both good, but play differently. They like to compare, victor explained, but in a good way. They are so funny. Jean is very cute, the way she talks, makes impressions, waves her hands in the air, laughs...Victor is funny too. He always listens to jean even if he doesn't turn his head to watch her. I noticed him saying why? and really? a lot to her so she feels like he's really listening. :) But then i thought, maybe he just is daydreaming. They invited me to dinner while i was taking pictures outside the hotel at around 830. I just got home and its 11! They were so fun to talk to. We laughed and talked till the sun was no longer in sight. darkness filled the sky and the only thing you can see is the moon's reflection in the river water. We chatted about everything. Their teachers, where they met, whats the weirdest thing you've eaten, where i work, Taiwan, this festival, California, music, famous actors, The Duke of Luxembourg, Duchess the movie...etc. The ordering went something like this: Jean, Goofy meal, which consisted of spaghetti with meat and sauce. (She had the Mickey Mousse the night before) Me: Mickey Mousse, chicken nuggets, applesauce, french fries and ice cream for dessert..Victor got serious. He told me on the walk over to the restaurant that the steak there is really good. So, he ordered, a steak yes...but HORSE steak! The waiter said its just like steak except a little different taste and way more juicy! Medium rare. and let me tell you, it was AMAZING! Here are some pictures to look at!

i tried french onion soup!!

the horse steak!

Short and Sweet

As well as taking my vitamins for the past 3 days, i've been practicing quite a lot! Luxembourg is an absolutely dreamlike town and i've loved every minute being here! I don't have all night, since its already 11 40 pm and i have a concert really early tomorrow...but i thought i might fill you in a little bit. I am staying at Hotel Petry, which is a really quaint hotel located right in the middle of the town so everything is in walking distance...it also has a pleasant pizzeria restaurant downstairs that i enjoyed eating at my first night. I thought i might be adventurous and not be picky for once. The waitress came and i pointed to one of the pizzas. I'll take that one please! Everything on the menu was in Luxembourgish, so i couldn't understand a word. yes it is a language. I learned how to say Hi. Im not sure how to spell it but its pronounced, Moyer, with a roll on the r at the end. my food came out about  25 minutes later and i was thinking...geeze, what did i order!! As i was sitting by myself watching the sunset of Vianden, my pizza had arrived. Now, i don't know about you...but i've never ever had an EGG on my pizza. I had found out after eating it, hesitantly, that i ordered bacon, egg, and onion pizza. :O ! Here's the thing...i ate half of it..telling myself with every bite "you are in Vianden, Luxembourg and you probably wont ever be here again." and "you only live once", but i couldn't finish it. I guess the people here have humongous appetites because when my waiter came around to see how i was doing, she looked super surprised i didn't finish it! I felt bad, so i asked for a box reassuring her that i would eat it later that night! Its still on my floor by my suitcase. haha Its just not...my type of pizza. But sitting at that restaurant was such a special moment. I pulled an, Eat Pray Love moment, because i was by myself and i was so content with what i was doing, where i was, what i was seeing, smelling, hearing...etc. i was sitting inside the low lit hotel, watching everyone outside. (the pizzeria continued outside) This little family sitting across from me was so cute. The couple had a little boy and he was running around the restaurant. It didn't bother anyone because it wasn't that full inside and everyone treats the people they know like family. my waiter and that particular family would just be talking for so long! i sometimes got impatient, but then realized at what a cool thing to experience. i could tell they were speaking french, for french and german/luxembourgish is so different. The people here, i've learned, knows english, luxembourgish, and german for sure. everyone i've met knows way more though. anyway, the little boy was so funny when he came running back to his mom and dad. he passed me, and as he did, he was such a young gentleman. i was just sitting there smiling at him and he took his left hand and placed it behind his back and then threw his right hand in the air and twirled it down and he bowed to me. He pretended to take his hat off and then he said something in french to me with a smile on his face! He then ran away. That completed my day. Ah what an amazing moment. Oh, i'm not really good at this short and sweet thing. I've only wrote about my first few hours in Vianden after flying all day. This is my 3rd day here and so much has happened. I hope you stay tuned for tomorrow! I will write more. For now, Ta Ta!

Mini Miracles for 8/3/11

I took a pill the size of a quarter without a problem. I love prayers.

Brandon still likes me after he encountered one of my mood swings.

All my family is home in my parents room. LOVE.

Monterey Bay Adventure #5

Ever since my San Francisco trip with Brandon, (adventure #1), we've loved going on random adventures to everywhere and anywhere! We've been to San Fran, Placerville, Sonora/Jamestown, ... .... ..... .... ... and some other places. This trip was number 5 and we traveled all night to Monterey Bay! We left around 4 30 am and left that night at 11ish. We got home at 1 :) We both had cameras that my dad let us borrow. I really wanted to accomplish one thing that day: Capture a bird in flight. I didn't do so well. Its so hard!!! My dad has amazing bird pictures-- http://www.daytonphoto.com/PAW/index.htm We went to Pacific Grove, and Monterey, walked around the whole town and snapped away. It was so much fun. :) Enjoy some pictures of mine

a perfect day.
